Bournemouth is an unusual town.

Bournemouth began on an afternoon in July 1810 when Mrs Tregonwell suggested to her husband Lewis that he should build a holiday residence near the beach.

By the end of the 19th century Bournemouth was a fashionable Borough of 60,000.

Its mild climate, tree-lined avenues, safe sandy beaches and lovely coutryside have continued to attract more residents and visitors ever since.
