There is no definitive view as to what a ghost is but in his book Michael Hodges tries to explain this phenomenon before retelling ghost stories from the area once known as Christchurch Hundred which is now part of East Dorset and SW Hampshire stretching from Studland and Poole along the coast to Lymington and inland to Ringwood and Wimborne.
