John Norman worked as a RSPCA Inspector for 35 years and this book reflects a small portion of his experiences during this time.

Initially serving in Leicestershire and then transferred to  Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire, he was eventually based at Blandford for over 20 years serving an area encompassing the coastline at Lulworth to Bournemouth and inland from Shaftesbury and Cranborne Chase to Fordingbridge.

Just like him it is a "straight from the shoulder, no frills or flounces" account. His experiences from the tragic to the comic and heart-warming give a glimpse of the day-to-day work of this wonderful animal welfare charity.
