This fascinating book documents the story of Poole Park, Dorset, from its opening in 1890 by HRH Edward, the Prince of Wales, to the present day.

Constructed on 90 acres of land donated by Lord Wimborne for the express purpose of creating a ‘park for the people', the park has catered for the town's residents through the decades with a variety of features, including a 60-acre saltwater boating lake, a freshwater lake and a duck pond, timbered tea house, cricket pavilion, bandstand, bowling greens, tennis courts and even a zoo.

The book includes a walking tour, which reveals the history of the park through its existing notable features.
